Good evening everyone!

Namaste, Tashi Delek to all of you!

Now I will have some accompanists, a flutist and a percussionist. But before we play the next song, I would like to explain a little bit about the song. You have an idea about it, which it's obviously the mantras. Mantras are always pronounced in Sanskrit, an ancient language. And according to what I learned, mantra means protection of mind. It protects the mind from negativity. Mantra is the essence of sound. It is the embodiment of all the truth in the form of the sound. So when we chant or sing mantra, it helps us to purify all the negative energy, and recharge with the positive energy.

And to sing these mantras in a melodious way is just a method that is used in Buddhist practice because melody in general has an inherent ability to sooth the very disturbed mind. It's a language that can be understood by every one of us, regardless of differences in our cultural background, or the places we come from, or the language we speak. It is a language that can be so powerful, and able to please the ears of the divine, human, animals and as well as nowadays some scientific very much proven that even the plants grew more beautifully.

So for such reason in monasteries when we perform ritual ceremonies, we always use different kind of melodies to perform the ritual ceremonies. Just now I started with a mantra to clear all the negative energy away. And the next is the mantra for Compassion Buddha. And we strongly believe that this mantra has the power to cultivate one's own compassion quality to the level where we will not only be able to heal ourselves but we will be able to heal others.

This next song is from a very profound Tibetan Buddhist practice called Cho. This practice was founded in Tibet by a Tibetan woman from the 11 th century. Obviously the conceptual resource was absolutely the Buddhist teaching. But she developed her own style, which is called Tibetan Cho practice. According to her terminology, Cho terminology, the title of this practice called Cho, which literally means to cut. It is emphasized on cutting through the ego-clinging. And according to the Cho terminology, ego develops when there is fear, fear of losing something, from very subtle level of things to very gross level of things. That's all the information about her. And she was known as Machig Lapdron, from the 11 th century, a great master. Besides her very profound teaching and her practice, these songs are very beautiful and melodious.
